宿务市(宿雾语:Dakbayan sa Sugbo;他加禄语:Lungsod ng Cebu),菲律宾中米沙鄢大区下宿务省的首府,位于宿务岛东侧的中部,属高度都市化的一级收入城市。根据2015年的人口普查数据,全市约有922,611人口 [3],为菲律宾第五人口大城,也是米沙鄢群岛人口最多的城市。
宿务市为宿务大都会的中心,该都会区包括宿务、卡尔卡尔、达瑙、拉普拉普、曼达维、那牙、塔里萨伊、康波斯特拉、康索拉辛、科尔多瓦、里洛安、明拉尼雅和圣弗南多共12个城市。截至2015年,宿务大都会约有2,849,213人口,就人口、经济和土地面积而言,是仅次于马尼拉大都会的菲律宾第二大都会区[5]。
在地理位置上,宿务市位处菲律宾的中央地带,北邻巴兰班市和康波斯特拉市,南邻明拉尼雅市和塔里萨伊市,西邻托雷多市,东邻里洛安市、康索拉辛市和曼达维市,并隔马克坦海峡与拉普拉普市所在的马克坦岛相望。
宿务市是米沙鄢地区最重要的商贸、工业和教育中心,以及菲律宾主要的国际航班中心与航运港口,拥有国内约80%的航运公司,并以闲适宜人的天然海滩和丰富的海产品闻名,是一处风景优美的旅游胜地,有“南方皇后市”之称。作为西班牙人来到菲律宾的第一个定居点[6],宿务市同时也是菲律宾历史最悠久的城市暨菲律宾的第一个首都,被认为是基督教在远东的发源地[7][8][9][10]。
文化
宿务市是菲律宾重要的文化中心,最著名的地标是麦哲伦十字架,现存放在一所小礼拜堂,据称是西班牙航海家斐迪南·麦哲伦在1521年登上菲律宾群岛时设置的。
宿务市也是颇受欢迎的仙奴诺节(Sinulog)的举办城市,逢一月的第三个星期日举行,以纪念圣婴。
历史
宿务在西班牙拓殖前已是一个兴盛的村落,与明朝及其他东南亚国家建立了贸易往来,至今仍住有许多华人,并有许多道教建筑。
1521年4月7日,西班牙航海家斐迪南·麦哲伦登上宿务,受到胡玛邦酋长(Rajah Humabon)夫妇及八百名土著人的欢迎。1521年4月14日,他们获西班牙人施洗,成为首批菲律宾天主教徒。然而,麦哲伦未能完成航海环绕世界一周的壮举,1521年4月27日,他在邻近的麦丹岛遭酋长拉普拉普杀害。
1565年4月27日,米格尔·洛佩斯·德莱加斯皮与奥斯定会传教士安德烈斯·德·乌达内塔登上宿务。1571年1月1日,莱加斯皮为宿务更名,由“San Miguel”(圣米格尔)改为“Villa del Santíssimo Nombre de Jesús”(圣名耶稣市)。在这六年间,宿务是新成立的西属东印度群岛的首府。
